Leather & lace- just the name has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? I love how even though lace and leather (faux, in this case) have such different textures , they go together so well. I’m a fan of faux leather in general. Its always super easy to build a semi glam outfit around one faux leather piece. Even the look here is very minimal- barely any accessories, and the skirt just stands out! The lace crop top I’m wearing here was a STEAL from Tibetan Plaza at INR 800 and I loved how the delicate lace looked against the slightly more edgy leather.
A couple of weeks ago I shot this look with Gurpreet after a flash Forever New sale. I had excitedly bought this faux leather skirt and was hoping to wear it on a night out later that week. Unfortunately for me, Bangalore summer had already started by then, and by the end of the shoot I was in quite a (for lack of a more fitting word) sweaty situation. There went my hopes of wearing it to Shiro for retro night and dancing the night away. (there was still lots of dancing at Shiro, just not in a leather skirt )
Unfortunately, the skirt and all my blazers have gotten stuffed way way back in the closet for the next few months. I’m writing this post after coming back from a trip to Coonoor (aka heaven) and now that I think about it, the weather there was highly conducive to wearing leather skirt involving outfits. But there may have been the slight possibility that the skirt would’ve been a hindrance to all the walking/trekking we did while we were there (considering I can barely take large steps in the skirt, make that a certainty 😀 )
I hope you liked the look!
